The annex building extends between the two parts of the existing building to be preserved - the entrance building and the gyms.
While the classrooms are primarily oriented towards the outer facades, the break areas are lit through the generously sized atriums. In this way light-flooded lounges are created, which also allow for a natural cross-ventilation of the rooms. The school administration was left in its existing location, slightly restructured and extended by parts of the extension. Due to its location in the building, this area can be found quickly by both students and external visitors and is easily accessible.

Extract from the jury’s report:
"The project attempts to integrate the existing buildings into a new "overall building" in terms of urban development. This is appreciated by the jury. The functional arrangement around three courtyards and the terraces allow exciting insights into as well as views from the building".
