The listed school building at Grinzinger Straße 88 is being carefully expanded. The extension to the existing 1973 building is being constructed using solid construction methods with a wooden facade and blends respectfully into the established surroundings.
From street level, steps and a ramp lead across a covered forecourt to the entrance hall of the new building section. From there, access opens to the garden with its mature trees, which spatially connects the old and new buildings. Inside, nine classrooms, a library, and several multi-purpose areas are being created. A gym in the basement is available not only to the school but also to external sports clubs.
The roof will become a green third level: Generous areas with intensive planting, vertical climbing plants on the sides, and usable outdoor spaces as open-air classrooms will transform it into a vibrant gathering place. A cantilevered roof with integrated photovoltaic panels shades the areas and simultaneously provides an environmentally friendly energy supply on site.
