A seating – created as an answer to the desire for wellbeing, comfort, fun, sensory awareness and the pleasure of indulgence. Castillo can foster or impede communication; it can either encourage discipline or allow free expression. This piece of furniture serves the purpose of a chair while simultaneously offering its user the sensation of sitting comfortably on a sofa.
Michael Schluder and Sergej Nikoljski repeatedly work on and with this interface between design and architecture. The focus of their professional approach is never the form, but the way in which the object created is to be used, its social ergonomics so to speak. Their design is oriented toward human needs and functional procedures. The sofa is available in a modular system offering various sizes, with either leather or fabric covering.
