Within a period of 16 months from the beginning of the planning to the termination of the project, we had to enlarge the Austria Center Vienna, a conference centre positioned in front of the Vienna United Nations building, by an exhibition hall annex with a floor space of 6,200 m2.
What made the project such a complex task was the strict prerequisite that the building had to be erected on top of an existing multi-storey car park, that the building’s use was hermetically restricted to its interior and that it had to be integrated into the differentiated urban development of the Donau-City area with its apartment complexes, office buildings and public institutions.
